An Early Launch For Our New Knowledge Base

Last month I published a post saying that “The Telecoms Knowledge Base Open To All” was coming soon and that it would be ready mid-April.

After lots of hard work, team contributions and filtering through common support queries, we’ve made good progress and are happy to announce that T2K’s knowledge base is now live ahead of schedule.

Within the knowledge base you will be able to find tonnes of help and support guides for Mitel telephone systems such as the Mitel MiVoice Office 250 (formerly Mitel 5000) and Mitel MiVoice Business (Mitel 3300). For our Gamma Horizon cloud hosted customers, there’s also a wealth of articles there for you too.

Each section is broken down into the following categories:

  • Handset features
  • System Features
  • User Guides
  • Release Notes (currently only available within the Gamma Horizon section)

The “Handset Features” section is really broken down and will be most used by the end users. This includes common questions such as placing calls on hold, transferring calls and using DND (Do Not Disturb).

The “System Features” section is often only applicable for the back-end of the system through the portal or through an administrator phone.

Full user guides can be found for handsets that are compatible with your system. We will also be updating this section regularly with new releases… Especially as the new Mitel 6900 series phones are now compatible with the MiVoice Office 250 system.

If you don’t want to have a look through tonnes of guides, we completely understand! Simply use the search bar at the top of the knowledge base to quickly filter through the relevant articles.

Making the most of the search function

To make the most of the search function, T2K would strongly recommend searching by keyword. For example...

If you’re looking to use DND on your Mitel 5320e phone:

  • Search “DND” or “do not disturb”.
  • We would not recommend searching a long phrase such as “how to set up do not disturb on my mitel 5320e ip handsets connected to MiVoice office 250 system”.
  • Once you have searched “DND” or “do not disturb”, the search function will show a list of DND guides for all systems, however these will be labelled with the correct telephone system such as:
    • “Using do-not-disturb (DND) on your Mitel handset – MiVoice Office 250
    •  “Changing your incoming call settings on a Gamma Horizon phone system”.

If one keyword doesn’t show a relevant article, it does not necessarily mean that there is no relevant article there, so please try another. We would be more than happy to write a guide on an area which you need help with, or even talk through any telecoms support you require over the phone.

The future of T2K’s knowledge base support area

The knowledge base will not become stagnant. You can expect new articles to be posted every week, along with user guides and release notes for relevant telephone systems.

In the future, we also hope to incorporate guides for some of our products such as Mitel phone manager, Mitel campaign manager and much more.
